We had nice conversation about our reading goals. We hung these goals up with a paperclip to show our movement. I like to start with an easier goal at first to motivate children! One day a week the children in my classroom are super excited to read with their flashlights!!!!!! I try to evoke in them a LOVE for literature!! Then it all comes easy!

I sent my parking garage home today… I use it to help reinforce high fluency and sight words!

This is an inexpensive way to motivate students and praise them for good behavior and excellent efforts! We try to have many lunch dates. Hahaha someone does not like blueberries!

Persisting through challenges in the classroom is what the common core is all about! We read the classic book, The Little Engine That Could. We discussed how we are like the tiny little engine when we write. This lesson was so perfect. I now often refer to the Little Engine when I am conferencing.
