We incorporate technology daily in the classroom. This generation needs to have a great understanding in this area. As the year progresses the students will write research papers and the web will be a source for much of their research findings.

 

Here we are working hard at explain and drawing the Life Cycle of a pumpkin.... We often work in small groups and in small partnerships.

Students communicate their thoughts and ideas.

This was challenging some students worked on the life cycle of a pumpkin unscrambling the steps and placing them in order.

We received a CARE-COIN for their amazing work in the hallway. I was so impressed!!!!! 

After hearing a story about the life cycle of a pumpkin we put the pictures in order with partners and drew the life cycle of a pumpkin....

My STUDENT OF THE MONTH!!!!!! WHEN HARD WORK PAYS OFF!!!!!! 

I love watching the children work in partnerships. It is important to learn how to communicate and work as a team.

The children used counting cubes and yarn to measure the circumference of the pumpkin. Two students also used tape measures and inches.

That's a lot of seeds! On Monday we will sort by 10's and count them. Someone guessed 510 seeds. He may be close?

The children did an excellent job separating the seeds from the guts.

We have begun an exciting unit on pumpkins. Here we are using many of our five senses to gut the inside of a pumpkin. We made estimated guesses of how many seeds were inside. A funny guess was 10.

This is a place where we can peak inside our children's classroom. We can explore all of the learning that goes on in a day. Please come visit with your children. I am so sure that they would love to explain what they are doing. Gone will be the days of, "What did you do all day?" with the reply of "Oh, nothing." Come visit my sweeties, and ask away!!!!
